My name is Mariah Jade, and I want to thank you for taking an interest in my work. I appreciate you taking the time to look and learn more about what I do.

The focus of my art is texture and the use of recycled materials. I primarily work with acrylic, but I often incorporate additional elements like salt, sand, tissue paper, magazines, old books, and crochet materials. These textures help bring each piece to life and create layers that invite the viewer to experience more than just what they see.

Texture is what inspires me most. I aim to create pieces that you don’t just look at but can almost feel with your eyes. By experimenting with different materials and techniques, I build surfaces rich with depth and detail.

Proceeds from my art sales go to Exodus 5:1, a nonprofit whose mission is to free people from slavery in Pakistan. Exodus 5:1 not only purchases families out of slavery but also helps connect them to jobs, housing, education, and church. Supporting this cause through my art allows me to connect creativity with compassion and contribute to bringing freedom and hope to others.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Iowa State University in 2011, and I regularly have shows in and around the Des Moines area.
Love God. Love people. Make art.
